Mel Tucker to Michigan State: “This is certainly a dream come true.”

One day after reiterating his support for the CU football program, Mel Tucker arrived in East Lansing, Mich., on Wednesday to accept the job as Michigan State’s 25th head football coach.

“We were looking first and foremost for a person of character,” MSU athletic director Bill Beekman said. “He’s the right coach at the right time to move Michigan State forward with passion and energy.”

The former CU football coach took the stage minutes later, talking about “gratitude, responsibility and loving Spartan football,” in a prepared statement before thanking multiple people involved in his ascension to MSU football coach.
