SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Colorado woman's tennis junior Monica Malinen was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Malinen, a junior transfer from Oulu, Finland, becomes the eighth woman in CU history to earn a conference player of the week award and just the second in the Pac-12, joining Tina Bokhua in 2016. Malinen's honor is the 11th in school history and the first for a performance in conference play since Monica Milewski in 2010.
The junior had a perfect weekend, winning both her singles and doubles matches on the road against Arizona and Arizona State.
