Kyle Ringo: Tharp's vision finally coming into focus

Colorado athletic director Rick George has been praised at an almost embarrassing, but well-deserved, level for finally taking the athletic department into the 21st century with its $181 million facilities expansion and renovation.

George's predecessor, Mike Bohn, has been given some credit for beginning the process that George invigorated when he was hired two years ago. Bohn also is appropriately credited with enhancing the school's basketball and volleyball programs during his tenure with the completion of a $12 million addition to the Coors Events Center.

The guy who hasn't received much credit for any of this until now is the guy whose coattails both George and Bohn were riding when it comes to the original ideas for those projects.
