Jimmy Brumbaugh hired as Colorado’s defensive line coach

Mel Tucker is continuing to construct his staff in Boulder and is bringing on Jimmy Brumbaugh as the Colorado Buffaloes defensive line coach.

Brumbaugh, 42, spent the last two years as Maryland’s co-defensive coordinator and also has ties to CU’s former defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot, serving as his defensive line coach at Kentucky from 2013 to 2016. The Terps improved from 80th in total defense to 60th this past season under Brumbaugh.

Brumbaugh has spent time as an assistant during the course of the past 15 years with Jacksonville State, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Louisiana Tech, Syracuse and JUCO powerhouse East Mississippi Community College.
