In-person classes key for return of CU Buffs sports

There are still a lot of hurdles to be cleared for college sports to return in the fall, but the University of Colorado cleared an important one on Tuesday.

CU chancellor Philip DiStefano announced the school’s “Road Map to Fall 2020,” and it includes on-campus classes beginning Aug. 24, as scheduled.

CU is the latest school to announce plans for in-person classes. According to The Chronicle of Higher Education, which is tracking college plans, about 67 percent of schools are planning for in-person learning, with another seven percent looking at hybrid in-person/online models. Another 21 percent of the 750 schools tracked are waiting to decide or considering several options, while only six percent are planning for online classes.
