How Mel Tucker and the CU Buffs staff evaluate a QB prospect

For Brendon Lewis, it was less about Panorama Point and more about the PT. As in Playing Time.

“I loved the place overall,” Lewis, a dual-threat quarterback from Melissa, Texas, and a May commitment to the CU Buffs’ class of 2020, told The Post. “And the chance to have a place to play early and to compete early for a spot really sold me.”

CU coach Mel Tucker and offensive coordinator Jay Johnson really sold him, too, especially with at least 13 other Power 5 programs — including Missouri, Nebraska, Mississippi State, TCU, Texas Tech, Boston College, Houston, Kansas, Syracuse and Vanderbilt — vying for the services of the 6-foot-3 quarterback.
