BOULDER — Trisha MacIntyre, wife of Colorado head football coach Mike MacIntyre, will help host the first Hike For Her Event on Sunday (Oct. 2) to help raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
Trisha MacIntyre was inspired to create the event after losing her mother to ovarian cancer in November 2015.
September is National Ovarian Cancer Month, and the event will help fund research that is on the cusp of major breakthroughs in battling the disease.
According to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, an estimated one in 75 women will develop cancer during her lifetime.
