PARK CITY, Utah–The NCAA Ski Championships will have to wait one more day to get underway as the giant slalom races were postponed by race officials shortly before the start here Wednesday morning.
About five inches of snow fell overnight here at Park City Resort and it proved to be a little too much to scrape off the top of a solid surface underneath. Race organizers felt Thursday would bring much better conditions.
That will mean a busy Thursday in which half the championship will be completed. As of late Wednesday morning, Thursday's race schedule looks like this:
- 9 AM – Women's GS First Run
- 10 AM – Women's 5K Classic
- 10:15 AM – Men's GS First Run
- 12 PM – Men's 10K Classic
- 12:45 PM – Women's GS Second Run
- 2 PM – Men's GS Second Run
