DENHAM, England — University of Colorado sophomore Ellie Gower tied for eighth in the third event of the European Rose Ladies Series, a one-day event that featured some of the top women on the European LPGA Tour held Thursday here at Buckinghamshire Golf Club.
Gower recorded an even-par 72 on the 6,303-yard course design, but stood 3-over par after three holes when she opened bogey-par-double bogey. From that point on, she put in a stellar performance, scoring three birdies and 12 pars the remainder of her round.
Gower, who won't turn 18 until this August, was also the second low amateur in the field, one stroke behind Lily May Humphreys.
