Golfers Finish Sixth In Fallen Oaks Collegiate

SAUCIER, Miss. — The University of Colorado men's golf team had rough stretch in the middle of the final round here Tuesday, and in the process slipped to a sixth place finish in the inaugural Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational.

No. 2-ranked Auburn ran away from the field in the final round, as the Tigers shot the best single round of the event Tuesday with a 10-unver 278; that gave them an overall team score of 21-under 843. Leading by six heading into the final round, Auburn would defeat tri-host Mississippi by 19 strokes. The Rebels finished with an 862 score, the only other team under par for the event, with tri-host Mississippi State finishing third (865).
