BOULDER — The world’s best track and field athletes are heading to Beijing to compete at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships, August 22-30, and that includes a pair of former Buffs and Olympians, Emma Coburn and Jenny Simpson.
Coburn (3,000-meter steeplechase) and Simpson (1,500-meters) won their respective events at the USA Track and Field Championships last June and are positioned to do well on the world stage. Simpson currently ranks fourth in the world, while Coburn is fifth.
Simpson has had success at the recent world championships.
