For the first time since 1996, Denver be the site for an NCAA men's basketball tournament regional round.
The Pepsi Center will play host to the West Regional on March 25 and 27, 2021, the NCAA announced Monday. The event is also hosted by the Mountain West Conference.
The last time Denver held a regional, it was at the now-demolished McNichols Sports Arena.
This marks the fifth time the Pepsi Center has housed men's tournament games. The arena hosted first- and second-round matches in 2004, 2008, 2011 and 2016. It also was the site of the 2012 women's Final Four.
