Given some struggles with nagging injuries, senior Alexis Austin hasn't quite been herself lately.
The senior remains an all-around force for the University of Colorado volleyball team, yet during the first three games of this weekend's Omni Invitational Austin gladly took a back seat to hot-hitting sophomore Gabby Simpson as the focal point of the Buffs' attack.
In the tournament finale Sunday night against Air Force, however, Austin looked much more like her usual self, helping to stake CU to a quick lead they never relinquished in a sweep of the visiting Falcons.
The victory gave CU a perfect 4-0 mark in the tournament and improved the Buffs' overall record to 8-4 heading into the first Pac-12 Conference match of the season Wednesday at Utah.
