CU men's golf fails to qualify for NCAA nationals

The University of Colorado's men's golf team shot its best round of the week Wednesday — an even-par 288 — at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Tuscaloosa, Ala., but it wasn't enough to send the Buffs to the NCAA Championship. CU finished tied for eighth with a 26-over 890 total.

CU tied Lipscomb, 23 shots back of fifth-place and final national qualifier Auburn.

Individually, Junior Jeremy Paul led CU, tying for 21st on the 7,512-yard, Par-72 Ol' Colony Golf Course. He was 3-over 219 for the three-day tournament.

Fellow junior Ethan Freeman was three shots back, tied for 34th.
