EUGENE, Ore.— Not this time.
For the second consecutive game, the Colorado Buffaloes could not have scripted a more frustrating start. Yet unlike Sunday's fast-and-furious rally in an ultimately victorious effort against Cal, the Buffs had no answer for No. 16 Oregon on Thursday.
CU scored the first basket of the game but that proved to be one of the few highlights for the Buffs, as the host Ducks ran away for a 76-56 victory to retain sole possession of first-place in the Pac-12 Conference.
Oregon reeled off an early 10-0 run and never looked back, netting 11 points off eight CU turnovers in the first half.
