Inspired by a retiring coach who once patrolled the Coors Events Center floor, a hot-shooting Fort Lewis squad gave the University of Colorado men's basketball team all it could handle Wednesday night.
The undermanned Skyhawks just didn't have enough firepower to stay with CU for 40 minutes.
Fort Lewis remained within two points at halftime and pulled even immediately after the break, but the Buffs were able to steadily pull away in the second half to post a 95-71 win. It was CU's sixth consecutive win.
Coached by former Buff Bob Hofman, who is retiring this year after 20 seasons at Fort Lewis, the Skyhawks shot .
