CU Buffs hire final football assistant

Brian Michalowski has been in Boulder for about a month and he's already got a promotion.

According to a Buffzone.com source, Michalowski will be named as the Colorado Buffaloes' outside linebackers coach, completing first-year head coach Mel Tucker's staff of on-field assistants.

Michalowski, 29, was hired on Jan.7 as director of quality control for the defense, but has since been moved to a full-time coaching position. He spent the 2018 season as a quality control assistant on defense at Georgia, working with Tucker and new CU defensive coordinator Tyson Summers.

This weekend, Michalowski was in Germany to teach at the 14th annual Bavarian Coaches Convention.
