BOULDER – In an important game for the first place spot in the Pac-12 conference, Colorado lacrosse suffered a very close 16-13 defeat against the No. 20 USC Trojans here Friday afternoon. The game was played at the Indoor Practice Facility due to snowy weather conditions.
The Buffaloes (6-6, 4-2 Pac-12) had their way in the first half, scoring more goals, saving more shots and winning more draws than the Trojans (12-3, 7-1 Pac-12). However, in the second half, USC started to gain momentum by possessing the ball on offense and causing turnovers on defense.
"In terms of plays we made under pressure, we could have been a little more poised," head coach Ann Elliott Whidden said after the game.
