Colorado men finish 4th at NCAA cross country championships, led by three runners in the top 11

VERONA, Wis. — Roughly 45 minutes after the University of Colorado women won both the team and individual NCAA cross country titles, the CU men stepped on the starting line, buoyed by their teammates’ spectacular performance.

Ranked No. 8 in the coaches poll coming in, juniors Joe Klecker and John Dressel and senior Ryan Forsyth made quick work of moving to the front, just as the women had earlier that day. Klecker, who won his second NCAA Mountain Region title a week ago, stayed locked at the head of the lead pack.

“I just found myself pushing the race,” Klecker said.
