BOULDER — Tory Miller this week provided an apt description of Colorado's offense during the first 10 minutes of its game against California on Sunday.
"We couldn't throw the ball in the ocean if we were standing on the beach," the affable sophomore big man said with a laugh.
But as poor as the Buffaloes were on offense while making only one of their first 20 shots, the rim-clanking display contained a silver lining: the Buffs didn't let their struggles sour their effort on the defensive end.
As a result, despite scoring one basket in the first 10 minutes, CU never trailed by more than eight points.
