Colorado-Arizona State game highlights state’s success in producing offensive linemen

Matt McChesney couldn’t cut up the highlight and post it fast enough.

McChesney, a former University of Colorado and NFL lineman, began working with Sam Jones when Jones was a sophomore at ThunderRidge High School. McChesney taught Jones that displays of strength are currency for an offensive lineman.

So when Jones, now a redshirt sophomore left guard at Arizona State, blasted a UCLA defensive lineman off the line of scrimmage last week and drove him into the ground, McChesney was like a proud parent.

“I couldn’t stop posting it (to social media),” said McChesney, a former Niwot standout who runs Six Zero Strength and Fitness in Centennial, a no-frills training center that helps sharpen the strength and skills of players from the high school to the professional level.
