Buffs Rally Falls Short As Trojans Hold On For 48-41 Win

BOULDER — A furious Colorado rally in the second half fell just short Saturday as the Buffaloes dropped a 48-41 decision to Southern California at Folsom Field.

The Buffs fell to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in Pac-12 play while the Trojans improved to 5-0, 3-0.

The Buffs trailed by 27 points, 41-14, late in the third quarter but scored three touchdowns in the final 17 minutes. USC, though, had one more score in its pocket and held on for the win to take a 17-0 lead in the all-time series between the two squads.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Colorado's defense never found an answer for the nation's highest-scoring offense in the first half.
