SEATTLE/FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Colorado track and field graduate transfer Ella Baran became the second CU woman to run under the nine-minute barrier in the 3,000-meter run here Friday evening.
Baran had an enormous kick, coming from around eighth in the race with less than half a mile to go to finishing third on the heels of the leaders in 8:58.51. Her mark was good enough for top 10 in the NCAA this season before today and should qualify her in the event for the NCAA Championships along with her already top 10 5,000-meter mark.
