Former Lewis-Palmer star volleyball player Alexa Smith has joined the Colorado Buffaloes after playing her freshman season at Purdue, CU coach Jesse Mahoney announced Monday.
Smith, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, will have three years of eligibility.
“I’m so excited to be back in Colorado and to represent this state once again,” Smith said in a news release. “I am really looking forward to playing for coach Mahoney and being part of the program at CU. I am also very grateful to be able to play close to home and to be closer to my family.”
Smith was the 2014 Denver Post player of the year after leading Lewis-Palmer to the Class 4A state title.
