ZHANGJIAKOU, CHINA – Former Colorado Buffalo Alvar Alev made his last start of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games here Saturday, finishing 36th in the Cross Country Men's 50km Mass Start Free.
Alev's time for the event was 1:16:28.4. He finished 4:55.7 out of first place.
Wearing bib 47, Alev gained 11 spots through the race. In the first kilometer, he quickly made up four spots to get to 43rd. He then went up another four spots to 39th in the 2.6-5.9K interval. After dropping from 36th to 39th in the 16.8-20.1K interval, Alev made the spots back up to retain 36th in the 20.
