A look at three goalies the Avalanche might target to replace Philipp Grubauer and share the net with Pavel Francouz in 2021-22:
— Darcy Kuemper, Arizona Coyotes. He’s 31 and entering the last year of a contract paying him $5.5 million ($4.5 million cap hit). The rebuilding Coyotes will want to save money and trade Kuemper before his contract expires, and that could happen before next season begins. The 6-foot-5 Kuemper has a .917 career save percentage.
— Devan Dubnyk, free agent. He ended the season in Colorado as Grubauer’s backup and is coming off a six-year, $26 million contract he signed with Minnesota in 2015.
