Nichushkin opened the scoring for the Avs on a deflection from Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse in the first period.
He followed things up in the second frame scoring on a rebounded shot from Devon Toews.
The quick shot got past the blocker of Oilers goalie Mike Smith.
