WATCH: Colorado Avalanche fans showed up Monday night to Pepsi Center to cheer on the boys to victory

It has been a season no one expected. The Avalanche was dead last in the standings a year ago, tallying a measly 48 points across 82 games. This season the boys in burgundy boasted 95 points, the largest increase between seasons by a franchise in NHL history, and earning themselves the final wild-card spot. Now the Stanley Cup Playoffs have returned to the Mile High City, and fans are pumped to see the resurgence of hockey in Colorado.

It was a sellout crowd at Pepsi Center on Monday night, with 18,087 screaming fans in attendance. Stealing the show in the second period was Von Miller of the Denver Broncos, who is now a self-proclaimed fan of the NHL.
