A few weeks ago, we reported that Colorado Avalanche forward Vladislav Kamenev was expected to sign with SKA St. Peterburg to play in the KHL next season. Despite the rumor Kamenev’s agent and other media outlets, the move has now been confirmed by the player himself. Kamenev took to Instagram Tuesday afternoon to thank the Avalanche and their fans.
The 24-year old is set to be a restricted free agent at the conclusion of the NHL playoffs. There is a good chance the Avalanche tender Kamenev a qualifying offer in order to retain his rights this offseason.
