At some point, Colorado Avalanche backup goaltender Scott Wedgewood could be considered a household name. He could also make the contract decision by the Avalanche easier, as he’s in the second of a two-year deal. He has been amazing for the Avalanche since being acquired last season from the Nashville Predators and his start to the 2025-26 season is just adding to that fact.
Wedgewood has a 4-0-1 record this year in place of the injured Mackenzie Blackwood, and it appears likely that he will get yet another start on Tuesday when the Avalanche head to Utah to face the Mammoth.
