The Avalanche’s trip to Finland wouldn’t have been complete without a team visit to the sauna — and an accompanying contest.
A few players utilized saunas on their own throughout the week. After all, they’re everywhere. Individual rooms included private saunas at Colorado’s team hotel in Tampere, where the Avalanche swept Columbus in the NHL Global Series. Local hockey teams often have saunas at the rink or in the locker room.
“It’s the lifestyle,” Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev said.
