Today, the Colorado Avalanche announced that they have called up 24-year-old center Sheldon Dries and 21-year-old left-winger A.J. Greer in lieu of a two-game road trip through Western Canada.
In a corresponding move, the Avalanche have also placed left winger Sven Andrighetto on the injured reserve. Roster-wise, this puts the Avalanche at 23 active players (14F, 7D, 2G) on their roster, the maximum a team can have at a given time.
The Colorado Eagles have the week off in the AHL, they don’t play until a pair of back-to-back home games against the Tuscon Roadrunners (Aizona Coyotes affiliate) on Friday and Saturday, so even if Dries and Greer don’t play in these next two games, it’s not like they would be missing anything with the Eagles.
