Peter Forsberg was on the Avalanche's two Stanley Cup championship teams, and also part of the most venomous days of the rivalry with the Red Wings.
"It's been so many years now," he said Friday morning before playing in the Avalanche-Red Wings alumni game that night at Coors Field. "I don't think you can become best friends. But looking back, we both weren't really physical teams, but I think when we played against each other, it was something that came out. ... On the other hand, it was just hockey, that's just how the rivalry was.
