After all, this makes sense considering all the cap space that Colorado has ($31 million approximately). They would be on the hook for the remainder of Lundqvist’s deal. New York retains some of what is left on the deal for this to get done.
Again, there is the problem of the NMC. Would Lundqvist waive it? He has not in the past so why would he now? New York is carrying three goalies — Lundqvist, Igor Shesterkin, and Alexandar Georgiev.
