Nathan MacKinnon has signed a seven-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche through the 2022-23 season.
MacKinnon, 20, finished third on the Avs in scoring last year with 52 points (21 goals, 31 assists) in 72 games. He will enter his fourth season this year.
“He is going to be a key part of our team for many years to come,” Joe Sakic, Avs GM, said in a news release. “It was important to secure his rights moving forward.”
