Yesterday morning the Vegas Golden Knights announced they had fired head coach Gerard Gallant and assistant coach Mike Kelly. Since their inaugural season in 2017-2018, Gallant is the only head coach the franchise has known.
The Knights hired former San Jose Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer who will join the team starting today. A new assistant coach has not yet been named. Las Vegas has gone 24-19-6, good for fifth place in the Pacific, while DeBoer left the Sharks when they were 15-16-2 on Dec. 11.
