The start of the new league year isn’t just for the NHL level, but many transactions impact organizational depth and the minor league system. As the Colorado Avalanche have been busy shaping their roster in recent days, there’s also been movement to form the Colorado Eagles for the 2025-26 season.
First, and arguably the largest piece of business, was signing Eagles starting goaltender Trent Miner to a two-year contract extension right before qualifying offers were due. Miner gets a nice raise with the minor league guarantee portion of his contract and security in a multi-year deal while still maintaining league minimum salary should he get called up to the NHL.
