Mikko Rantanen returns to Avalanche practice with no contact restrictions: “I feel better every day”

Mikko Rantanen practiced without a red no-contact jersey on Tuesday but told reporters his full return from injury to the Avalanche remains on hold — at least for now.

“I feel better every day,” Rantanen said. “I just need a couple more days with the team and practicing.”

Rantanen, rehabilitating a left ankle injury suffered Oct. 21 at the St. Louis Blues, said he will not play on Wednesday night against the Oilers and will “hopefully” be ready when Colorado hosts the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.

NEW — Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen has shed his no-contact jersey for the first time today in practice.
