Mikhail Grigorenko gives White victory in Avs scrimmage

CENTENNIAL — With Avalanche centers Matt Duchene, Nathan MacKinnon and Carl Soderberg off playing in the World Cup of Hockey, Mikhail Grigorenko has been among those plugged into the middle at training camp. And the 22-year-old Russian scored Sunday with only 28.8 seconds remaining in the third period, lifting the White to a 1-0 victory over the Burgundy in a virtual emotionless edition of the Avalanche's annual intrasquad game at the University of Denver's Magness Arena.

Burgundy goalie Spencer Martin made the save on defenseman Sergei Boikov's shot, but Grigorenko got to the rebound in the slot and put it past Martin to prevent a scoreless regulation that would have sent the game to a 3-on-3 overtime.
