Joey Hishon Must Make An Impression

Joey Hishon has a lot to prove in 2015-2016. Earlier this week he was signed to a one-year, two-way contract. The two-way clause is key because it allows the Colorado Avalanche to send him to the minors without him needing to pass waivers. Basically, it makes it very easy for the Avs to demote him if he’s not cutting it in the NHL without the risk of losing him. Other fringe roster players like Marc-Andre Cliche, Patrick Bordeleau, and Jesse Winchester would have to clear waivers if they are demoted, meaning the Avs could lose them for nothing.
