Colorado Avalanche players, fans, and media got their first taste of what new head coach Jared Bednar’s systems look like on the ice Friday as training camp officially began. There was a clear emphasis on speed throughout both of the training sessions, but coach Bednar insists the speed displayed is “Just scratching the surface.”
“Everything is new to them right now, the systems and all the little details, so they are thinking a little bit. As we get going we will get faster and faster,” Bednar explained Friday afternoon.
