Just when you think the season can't get much worse, the Avs find a new and inventive way to lose. Tuesday's second period was perhaps the most unlucky period of hockey the Avalanche have ever have. With four goals deflecting in, the Avs could never make it back from the defect. The loss against the Flames was the Avs ninth in a row at home, by far a team record.
Thursday night, the Avs get a quick shot at winning on the road in Dallas. Last time the Avs were in Dallas, they fell to an early three goal defect and were never able to come all the way back despite dominating the game.
