Gabriel Landeskog “nowhere close” to returning from injury, Avalanche coach Jared Bednar says

Gabriel Landeskog is “nowhere close” to returning from his knee injury, Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Monday.

Landeskog underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in October. Bednar estimated the team captain would miss 12 weeks at the time. That would have put him on track to return in mid-January, but as the calendar year flips, he has barely been on the ice other than a brief stint in November.

Landeskog compiled 59 points in his second career 30-goal campaign last year despite missing a chunk of the regular season. He had knee surgery in March 2022 and only played in 51 games, his fewest since 2012-13, but he averaged a goal every five shots.
