PITTSBURGH — Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar's winning streak continues. The Avalanche won their second consecutive game to open the season, thanks to an overtime winner from captain Gabe Landeskog.
Landeskog swatted a deflected puck out of mid-air seconds into the overtime period, giving the Avs a 4-3 win over the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
It was Bednar's 17th straight win behind the bench across all competitions.
With 6:32 remaining in regulation, Landeskog tied it 3-3 with a power-play goal. At that point, both teams had two power-play goals and a disallowed goal.
