Jim Montgomery has been named the latest head coach of the Dallas Stars. With his move to the NHL, the 2017 NCAA National Champion University of Denver Pioneers are left without a head coach...for now. While DU has officially stated that they will start a search for the new bench boss, it is believed that they already have their man in David Carle.
At 28-years old, Carle would become the youngest head coach in NCAA Division I hockey.
According to College Hockey News, he was offered the head coaching position at his hometown University of Anchorage-Alaska just a few weeks ago.
