For the third time in four seasons, the NHL has come calling for David Carle.
He’s evolved from an intriguing young coaching candidate to one of the hottest names in the market, one that should be on every NHL club’s list when it has an opening. Two teams with some of the best young talent in the league and a potentially exciting future chased him in recent weeks.
For the third time in four seasons, the DU hockey coach politely said, “Thanks, but no thanks.”
“I’ve stated this before, but there’s no issue in being patient,” Carle said Thursday, three days after signing a multi-year contract extension to stay at the University of Denver.
