Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood was snubbed from Team Canada and will not be headed to the 2026 Olympics.
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood was not named as one of the three goaltenders heading to Italy for the 2026 Olympics. The reveal happened at the top of the hour (noon ET), with goaltenders listed first. Those goalies were former Avalanche Darcy Kuemper, Capitals’ Logan Thompson, and Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues.
The fact that Blackwood was not on the list really sucks because we have seen how much hard work he has put into this season, winning 12 of his 13 starts after going through an offseason surgery and needing time to recover from it.
