With the NHL season only two days away, this morning brings us the yearly tradition of waiver day. Team rosters have to be set by 5 pm ET tomorrow, so anyone that has to pass through waivers to get to the AHL has to be there today.
Today is the day teams can sneak guys through waivers that would likely be claimed later in the season. Everyone is trying to cut down rosters, so it’s rare for teams to be able to fit a new arrival in during this 24 hour period.
The Avalanche have added two names to the list of players on waivers today.
