The Colorado Avalanche got a big 4-1 win over the New York Islanders at Ball Arena on Sunday night. The Islanders were a tough opponent for the Avs, as the New York squad pushed Colorado down to the wire.
But in the end, the Avalanche prevailed. The game featured a reunion as Jonathan Drouin returned to Colorado as a member of the Islanders. Meanwhile, Brock Nelson faced his former team for the first time since last season’s trade deadline deal.
And Nelson took advantage of the opportunity to torch his former team. With the game 3-1 in the final seconds, Nelson put the exclamation mark on the game with his fifth of the season
