CALGARY – Special teams were the order of the evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Unfortunately for the Colorado Avalanche, those of the Calgary Flames were just a tad more special.
The Flames struck three times on the power play as they posted a 4-1 victory over the Avs on a frosty Wednesday night.
The Colorado objective was clear. The team had to find a way to stymie the doldrums it’s been mired in, in the form of a four-game losing streak.
The Avs hoped it would come at the hands of the Flames, winners of three of their last four.
